Claire's Alter-Ego or Teenage Blackmail Photo

Wherever danger lurks, there is ... the Red Claw!

Christmas Explodes in Our Living Room

Tons of toys!

Futility

Whenever it snows here, the workers get out their brooms and sweep the snow. Yes, brooms. Sweeping.

Birthday Present

So on my birthday I come home to discover that Luke has drawn 3 lines on his face with a marker. When asked why, he responded, "So I can be a Triceratops."

Street Obstacles

This post is the first in a series of things that you have to avoid while driving in China.

These picures come from Shanghai, the most Westernized city in mainland China.

WORKERS ON LADDERS

Look closely and you will notice that the ladder is not tall enugh to reach. So do you get a longer ladder? No, you make some poor sap hold it off the ground for you.

WORKERS DRAGGING CARTS OF JUNK

Again, DOWNTOWN Shanghai. These workers stopped for the red light.

Xi'An

The day after Thanksgiving, we travelled with some friends of ours to Xi'An to see the Terra Cotta warriors. I was surprised at how large and modernized the city of Xi'An actually is. And although they have no Starbucks, there are billboards announcing that one will be "Brewing Soon."
